Young Adult Assessments

Targeted Assessments

Young adulthood continues to be a period of identity development and exploration. There are many moving pieces to consider with the transition to increasing independence that can feel overwhelming at times. It helps to take a step back and work with an outside treatment provider to assess both areas of strength as well as areas for growth in order to design the unique path to achieve your goals.

Targeted assessments provide an opportunity to dig deep into one specific and narrow area of concern using a combination of psychological and neuropsychological assessments. For example, updated testing in order to receive accommodations in college or questioning whether or not you have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Smith will work both with you and any family and friends you feel comfortable including in order to understand how your symptoms have changed over time and how they are impacting you currently. She also works collaboratively with all of the key people in your life, such as therapists, professors, and parents to understand your unique needs across settings.

Comprehensive Assessments

Comprehensive assessments are an opportunity to explore the person. Oftentimes a concerning problem, such as attention problems or anxiety, are only the tip of the iceberg. The questions that initially bring a person to treatment oftentimes lead to more questions. A comprehensive assessment allows for in depth exploration of each domain in order to draw connections across domains.

Comprehensive assessments also help to identify more areas of strength that may not otherwise be evaluated since they are not areas of concern. Overlooked strengths can then be bolstered and used to support areas of growth. Find answers to your questions and the questions you do not yet know to ask.
